Baywaves

One of the national breakout acts of 2016 thanks to the EP Only for Uz (mixed by Joe Walker of King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard), the Cantabrian-Madrid band Baywaves has experienced a meteoric rise and its sound alchemy has successfully crossed our borders. And all this has taken place before the release of their long-awaited debut album, scheduled for the fateful 2020. But next summer Baywaves will surely play its new material  at Mallorca Live Festival.

From their first hit single, ‘Time is Passing U By’, to their most recent collaboration with Megansito el Guapo, ‘Drip’, Baywaves has been on the frontline of the spanish new psychedelia. They are able to draw influences from such different places as the Psychemagik or Too Slow to Disco compilations and put them through Brazilian rhythms or more modern references such as The Internet, Thundercat or Stereolab. A small Solar System where the planets of funk, psychedelia, pop, electronic and hip hop orbit around a sun with a garage drive.
