Klik & Frik

We can’t talk about Klik & Frik without mentioning their first project, the explosive Frikstailers. Argentinian Rafa Caivano and Lisandro Sona made their appearance in 2006, obsessed with the idea of combining musical worlds which remained disconnected at the time. Mixing cumbia with dancehall, hip-hop and electronic sounds, they took tropical rhythms to outer space levels and took by storm dancefloors all around the world. 

Klik & Frik was born in 2013 at Mutek Mexico after they explored indigenous sounds (mainly ignored up to that moment) and started to combine them with a stirring and mantric electronic production. As lockdown begun in 2020, they decided to picture themselves outside the dancefloor and produced their most ambient material to date, Contemporal I and Contemporal II. Undoubtedly their hit song ‘Boavista’ came to show that the dancefloor wasn’t the only possible niche market for this interesting duo.
