The 36th edition of the Half Marathon Magaluf gathered 1,000 participants who started the competition in the afternoon on June 26.
In the men’s category of the half marathon, British James Kessell (Clapham Chasers club) prevailed with a time of 01:14:45. In the female category, the athlete Amanda Martín (MALLORCATRAIL club) won with a time of 00:37:48.
The mayor of Calvià, Alfonso Rodríguez Badal; the Deputy Mayor for Sports, Eva Serra; and the Island Councilor for Tourism and Sports, Andreu Serra, presented the trophies in an act that took place at the Athletics Track, the scene of the start and finish of the Magaluf Half Marathon.
The two races ran through the streets of Magaluf, Son Ferrer and Palmanova via two new circuits, presented this year with a double aim: adapting to COVID regulations (avoiding crowds and being able to better organize all services) and continuing to capture the essence of the town’s tourist attractions of Palmanova and Magaluf, its coast, its promenades and its shopping avenues.
The race (organized by the Calvià 2004 Foundation and the Institut Calvianer d’Esports and supported by the Fundació Mallorca Turisme and our Mallorca Live Festival Foundation) has met the expectations of participants and organizers. All the runners were able to enjoy our Mallorca Live kit to make the race an unforgettable experience.
